...Members were assessed for repair work from the 1944 hurricane and the installation of a walkway along the bayfront and boat slips.
...Sailing Division of Surf City Yacht Club was started with handicap races run from the Elfman dock at the end of 15th Street.

... Members of the Sailing Division became Voting Members of SCYC. ... By-Laws amended to provide for a Rear Commodore and Board of Directors.

... 9th Sreet property bulkheaded.
... Meetings were still being held at the Surf City Boro Hall.
... Taxes for lots 33, 34 and 36,block 31(105) were $14.21 plus $1.50 for lot 31.
... Started racing by classes: Lightnings, Comets, Moth, and Mixed or Handicap.

...Certificates f Indebtedness replaced original "gilt edge stocks" that were inadvertently issued.
...Built rest room facilities on south side of 9th Street. ...Auxiliary continued to run July and August Covered Dish Suppers. ...The year of the "Fish House Punch Parties".

1953
...Clubhouse construction underway,
...First Long Beach Island Regatta held at Spray Beach Yacht Club.
...Auxiliary purchased club china with burgee (444 pieces).

1954
...Dedication of clubhouse.
...Bayfront on north side of 9th Street bulkheaded and filled to protect the four lots and the clubhouse.
...First yearbook - mimeographed on blue paper.
...Albert B. Serwazi donated oil painting "The Comet Start" to hand in the clubhouse.
...Georgia and Sally Secor donated photograph "The Starter".
...Added Saturday races to the schedule.
...Sailors declined participating in interclub races (drawbridge presented too many problems).
