1970
...Honorary Life Membership created:  John H. Elfman, Sr. and Isabelle Horsley (Mrs. Adon) named.
...Recommended the Commodore progress from Rear Commodore, 1 year in each step.
...Fall Comet Regatta renamed the Holland Trophy Regatta in memory of James A. Holland. VIEW
...Weather Station given in memory of James A. Holland.
...Andy Lawson wins Moth North Americans
...Kathy Mullin wins Ladies Moth North Americans


 1971
...First "Getting-To-Know-You Party" - later known as New Member Receiption.
...Junior Sunfish divided into A & B classes.
...Waterfront Program boasted 43 sailing students, 22 swimming students and 18 participating in Mid-Week.
 ...First Orange Coffee Pot Regatta. VIEW



1973
...New restrooms and storage area added to clubhouse.
...Silver Anniversary Celebration of the Sailing Division joining SC ...Red shed fixed up, made sound.
...Mary Ellen Carducci Laser Ladies' National Championship


1974
...First Long Beach Island Junior Championship
...32 pilings, 20 stringers installed to bulkhead in front of clubhouse at cost of $1,656.
 ...Ship's Store started. 
...First Craft Auction held. 
...Won North Jersey Yacht Racing Association Club Championship



1975
...Seven boats cruised to Silver By, Toms River and Seaside Park covering 3 days, 2 nights.
...SCYC burgee was flown in over 40 regattas ranging from Lake Ontario to Ecuador, South America.
...New bulkhead in cove (190'), repair of "I" dock, additional piling to 10th Street bulkhead and dredging of cove.
...Last year for Moth sailing at SCYC
...John Skinner wins Comet Junior Internationals



1976
...First Auxiliary Cookbook came out.
 ...Bi-Centennial Cruising Boat Regatta. 
...181 attended Family Day
..."Belle" passed by - dock damage, lost gravel.



1977
...Frnk W. Temme, Sr. made Honorary Life Member 
...Club burgee inlaid in clubhouse floor
 ...Loan needed to make repairs from "Belle" and winter ice. 
...Bubbler system installed.
...Mariners added to Annual Regatta.



1978
...31 Sunfish participated in the 1st Junior Commodore Regatta at SCYC 
 (6races/2 days).
...Black-topped Sunfish yard.
...Club membership:  63 Family Voting, 44 Voting, 3 Honorary, 22 Associate, 5 Participating, 2 Intermediate and 3 Junior.
...15 Sailboats and 3 power boats participated in Cruise Week.
...Richard Warren win Comet Internationals at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor



1979
...Sunfish Fleet #607 chartered.
...Thomas Callahan MemorialTrophy donated for the winner of the 
   Junior Sunfish Championship. VIEW
